I like him better when he smiles.

Do read and watch all Elizabeth Gaskell's work, I think you'll enjoy them. Try catching Call the Midwife too, its different and good.Pallavi Srivastavahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02031405724490194295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5637494469557570161.post-47708999513592317092012-06-30T04:21:14.128-07:002012-06-30T04:21:14.128-07:00Aah, I've been dying to see Little Dorrit! As ...Aah, I've been dying to see Little Dorrit! As well as North & South and Wives & Daughters, but I've yet to read any of these novels and don't want to watch the adaptations beforehand. Must get around to it soon.

I only saw Lost in Austen once and it was quite awhile back but I remember enjoying it. What did you think of Elliot Cowan? I thought he made a very suitable Darcy - the pride, and the struggle, and what's even more aesthetically pleasing is that he was nice and broad-shouldered :PLady Disdainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07432976417238066070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5637494469557570161.post-5132912645964682102012-06-29T10:35:20.174-07:002012-06-29T10:35:20.174-07:00I am glad you liked it Miss Laurie!

I too love Downton Abbey...A very interesting list!
I too love Downton Abbey, North & South, Pride & Prejudice, Little Dorrit, Cranford and Wives & Daughters. They are at the top of my list along with Bleak House and my favorite Jane Austen adaptations.
Lost in Austen, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Upstairs Downstairs are all very interesting and that version of Tess of the D'Urbevilles is okay but very very sad.
I've never seen Call of the Widwife or Mildred Pierce, are they any good? Look sort of risque to me.
Good list! :)Miss Laurie of Old-Fashioned Charmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11096222035851269474noreply@blogger.com
